2. Information we collect

Information you provide:

Account details: name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo
Trainer details: certifications, specialties, availability, rates, government ID for verification
Booking details: sessions booked, dates, locations, and messages exchanged with trainers or clients
Payment details: billing address and payment method, processed by our third-party payment processor
Support requests: anything you share when you contact our support team

Information collected automatically:

Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
Usage data: pages and screens viewed, features used, session duration
Location data: precise or approximate location, used to show nearby trainers or clients (see Section 5)
Cookies and similar technologies on our website (see our Cookie Policy)

3. How we use information

To operate the marketplace, including matching clients with nearby available trainers
To process bookings, payments, and payouts
To verify trainer identity and certifications
To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
To send booking confirmations, receipts, and service updates
To maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform
To improve our features, with your consent where required, for marketing communications

Between clients and trainers: booking details, profile information, and messages needed to complete a session
Payment processors: billing information necessary to process payments and payouts securely
Service providers: vendors who help us operate the Platform, such as cloud hosting, analytics, and identity verification providers, under confidentiality obligations
Legal & safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrainNow, our users, or the public
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Location data

TrainNow uses your device's location to show you trainers or clients nearby and to power real-time matching. You can control location permissions through your device settings at any time; disabling location may limit core features of the Platform, such as real-time discovery.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information, except where retention is required by law, such as for tax or payment records.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and PCI-compliant payment processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

Update your profile information directly in the app
Manage location, notification, and marketing permissions in your device or app settings
Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing privacy@trainnowafrica.app

We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Children's privacy

The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@trainnowafrica.app and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International transfers

TrainNow is based in the United States and may process and store information in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection law, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
