Account & data deletion policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Applies to: TrainNow Africa (Athlete) and TrainNow Africa Trainer

1. Purpose

This policy explains how users of the TrainNow Africa athlete and trainer mobile applications can request deletion of their accounts and associated personal data.

2. How to delete your account

Open the relevant TrainNow Africa app, sign in, go to Profile or Account Settings, and select Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.

If you cannot access your account, contact our support team using the contact details published on trainnowafrica.app and request account deletion. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request.

3. What happens when you request deletion

After we verify your request, we will close your account and delete or irreversibly anonymize personal information that is no longer needed. This may include profile information, contact details, preferences, and associated app activity.

Deletion may affect access to bookings, training history, messages, and trainer services. Please resolve any outstanding sessions, payments, or disputes before requesting deletion where possible.

4. Information we may retain

We may retain limited records where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable South African laws, including tax, accounting, and financial recordkeeping obligations;
  • resolve disputes or chargebacks;
  • prevent fraud; or
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Retained information will be restricted to the relevant purpose, protected, and deleted or anonymized when no longer required.

5. Processing timeframe

We aim to process verified account deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal obligations and any exceptional circumstances. We will communicate if additional verification or time is required.

6. Subscriptions, bookings & payments

Deleting an account does not automatically reverse completed payments, cancel legal obligations, or guarantee refunds. Any refunds or cancellation fees are governed by the applicable TrainNow Africa cancellation and refund terms.

Trainers should check any active subscriptions and pending payouts before deleting their accounts.

7. Third-party service providers

Some information may be processed by payment, messaging, hosting, or identity-verification providers. Where applicable, we will instruct relevant processors to delete personal data in accordance with our contractual obligations, subject to their own lawful retention requirements.

8. Your privacy rights

You may contact us about access, correction, or deletion of personal information in accordance with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

10. Policy updates
